Making your building stand out sometimes takes more than signage or digital alone.

Grey Eagle Resort & Casino

Calgary, Alberta

When the client told us they were looking for more of a “Vegas” look for their resort and casino we were thrilled and our creative wheels started turning in high gear!

An empty concrete structural canvas quickly became our focus for the next couple months.  We worked with design ideas the client loved while faced with the challenge of building design and structure.

Our final design combining visual sign and lighting elements along with 3000 linear feet of color changing RGB feature lighting won them over.  Now it was time to get to work.  Creating a 67 by 13 foot sign structure for the top of a hotel meant a lot of work with engineers and revision after revision after revision in order to get the scale and viewing distance right plus the 5000 lbs structural steel bracket to hold the sign in place.

Identity was our first step since the building is a long ways off any major roadway we had to go BIG so we did!  The 7 foot and 4 foot channel letters are both front lit and back halo lit with white and red/blue LED lights which highlights the aluminum back panel of the sign.  For the eagle we got creative utilizing the look of their logo we fabricated an 18 foot eagle with 1/8″ aluminum and welded bracket then added red, blue, white and yellow LED flexible strips

The sign and structure when completed took up our entire shop and it took 4 industrial 40’ long trailers to get it to site in Calgary.

The final project creates a feature in Calgary,  a sign that can be seen for miles and a Vegas style building that comes to life for each season, event and or holiday showcasing different colours and movement along each of the forty 50 foot concrete columns.
